"National Workshop on Turbomachinery Aerodynamics: Design and Optimization using CFD" to be held at IIT Mandi, H.P. from June 21-24, 2013.
The workshop includes hands-on training & lecture-cum-discussion sessions by experts from Industry and Academia. This 4-day event focuses on:
- Turbomachine Principles.
- Industry Standard CFD & Mesh Generation Techniques.
- Flow Path Simulation.
- Axial and Radial Turbomachines.
- Blade Design, Micro channel cooling and CFD Analysis.
- Combustion Fundamentals & Combustors Design.
- High precision 3D scanning & prototyping technologies for design, development and quality control applications for Turbomachinery.
- Combustion Modelling using CFD.
- 2D/3D CFD simulation and design of radial turbomachines/fan/pumps.
- Pressure drop characteristics in continuum-based laminar compressible micro convective flow useful for Design of Turbine blades.

Design and Analysis competition: Altogether with the training on advanced CFD/FEA techniques to all participants, an industrial design problem will be given to them on the 1st day of workshop. Under expert guidance, the participants will finish the project by the final day. 9 winners (3 each from students, faculty and industry professionals category) will be chosen for advanced 3-day free training at Delhi on various fields of engineering by Altair Engineering Inc.
